A Church in the desert practicing the Fundamentals of the Faith.
Pastor Scott Sedmak served as pastor at the Church of the Lighted Cross in Morongo Valley from February 2003 to April 2014. He has a B.S. in Biblical Studies 1993, from Southwestern Bible College and a Masters of Divinity in Biblical Communications 2003, from Phoenix Seminary.
Scott and his wife Natalie have Three children: Alexander, Audriana, and Benjamin. Although they have lived in the Morongo Basin for over 11 years, they are in the process of acclimating to the 29 Palms heat. He met Natalie at Southwestern BibleCollege and they are here at 29 Palms FBC.
Pastor Scott as he likes to be called, has a wide ranging work history from a warehouse and delivery supervisor to a school teacher in addition to being a pastor. Born in Ohio and moved to California at approximately the first grade age. He has since moved around Southern California and finished High school in Tustin where he gave his life to the lord.
As a result of the Sister Church "Grace Harbor" he entered Christian service, not anticipating on becoming a pastor. Funny on how things work out. He thought he would be an elementary school teacher, Surprise, Surprise, Surprise.
Doris "Ann" Williams answered Jesus call at age 10 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She has led an active Christian life since that time.
Ann and her husband Charles "Chuck" Williams, who is a former 21 year career Marine, have been in 29 Palms ever since 1976. They are the parents of four wonderful children and have three super grandchildren who all live in California or Arizona.
After working nineteen years at a local Christian preschool Ann was ready for a change. God so nicely worked all this out when the office position at First Baptist Church of 29 Palms came open. Ann began working for FBC29 in 1996 and has enjoyed it since then.

I'm the kid that grew up here and joined the military service after high school. I moved around for thirty years and now I'm back. My family started attending the church in 1953 and I remember the ground breaking for the original church building.
I have been given a fancy title for someone who likes to put wires and circuit boards together. Our audio/video technicians responsibility is to enhance the worship service with audio, video and lighting effects. If you have a desire to serve the Lord in a technical way please contact me.
Ron Sandfer is our Webmaster.
I grew up in Orange County joined the Navy after high school. I learned electronics in the Navy. While working at the Shipyard in Long Beach I met the Love of my life and was baptised in 1992 at First Baptist Church of Fullerton. After the Shipyard closed, I was relocated to Twenty-nine Palms where we started attending First Baptist. I started learning how to modify the web site in 2012.
