FBC Athletics
Mission Statement
People matter to God and in the Athletics Ministry sports is our vehicle to connect with people. We are also aware that Athletics offers a unique opportunity to reach a watching world for Christ. Our goal is to include everyone, regardless of their athletic abilities. In this way, we can put into practice Christ's model of accepting people where they are.
League Sports provides FBC29 Christian athletes with an opportunity to witness to a watching world. Each team is committed to spreading the love of Christ treating their games as a “mini-mission”.
Softball League
Come and join the fun every tuesday and thursday and root for our teams.
We have regular season games scheduled until september 28th with playoffs begining september 30th.
FBC Athletics Softball League Teams provide participants a place to fellowship with one another in a social and athletic environment and to impact the secular community with the gospel message of Jesus Christ through our actions and interactions on and off the field.
The softball league is broken up into two seasons. The summer season starts in July and runs through mid-September. The winter season starts in December and runs through mid-February.
Game Schedules: Games are played weeknights (Summer - Tuesday & Thursday) (Winter – Tuesday) Teams are signed up to play on a set day of the week and play on that same day throughout the season (with possible exceptions of make-up games). Game times are 6:30 p.m. and 7:35 p.m. as scheduled each season. We are currently in the summer league.
Cost: The church is currently sponsoring our team fees ($425.00). A team shirt generally will cost 13.00/person.
How to Join a Team: Softball signups are currently being held after morning service. (Once our roster is full, anyone wishing to play will be put on a sub list and will be free to sign-up for Summer Season.) Women be on the look out for a Spring Softball league.
Needs and Opportunities: The success of this ministry rests upon the availability of people who are willing to manage and lead teams. In order to keep teams going and/or to form new teams, we need coaches to coordinate the teams. Please email me at anytime if you are interested.
